MAN'S DEATH AT TE KUITI VERDICT AT THE INQUEST > [by telegraph OWN correspondent] TE: KUITI, Friday An inquest was held to-dav concerning the death of Harold Pitcon before Mr. R. M. Somerville, coroner, who returned a verdict that deceased died at 6 a.m. on Christmas Day as the result of injuries received through being knocked down by a- taxi-cab driven bv Theodore Earnest Wilson.

Evidence was given thai, after alighting froin a bus, deceased tried to rejoin two companions on the opposite side of the road. Wilson, in evidence, said he saw deceased in the car lights and went to go round him, but Pitcon ran on an angle across the road in the same direction and was struck by the car.
