TRADE NEGOTIATIONS

CANADA AND UNITED STATES PRIME MINISTER'S VISIT (Received November f>. 5.5 p.m.) WASHINGTON, Nov. fi Acceleration of the reciprocal trade treaty negotiations between tho United States and Canada is expected as a result of tho visit of Mr. W. L. Mackenzie King, tho Canadian Prime Minister, on Thursday. Mr. Maekenzio King will remain through Saturday. On Friday ho will bo received at White House, and will bo overnight the guest of the President and Mrs. Roosevelt. Although there liavo been no official disclosures, it is assumed that trade will bo ono of tho principal topics of tho conversations between tho President and the Prime Minister. As the Bennett Government had already made considerable progress with tho trade negotiations, it is thought possible that tho conclusion of a treaty will be announced in two or three weeks. Whether tho prospective treaty will conflict in any way with the Ottawa agreements, and, if so, how the matter may bo adjusted in London, is tho principal point of speculation here.
