NEWS FROM TAURANGA
There was a largo attendance at the official opening of the Tauranga South Bowling and Tennis Club. The president, Mr. Fergus Bovd, declared the bowling green open, and Mrs. Boyd threw the jack and played the first bowl. Mrs. C. W. Johnson, wife of the vice-president of the tennis section, served the first ball on tho tennis courts. Tho tea tables Were most attractivoly arranged with vases of ixiaa. sweet peas and broom in shades of pink and heliotrope. Mrs. Boyd was in a frock of floral crcpo do chine . with a black coat and hat, and Mrs. Archie Hardy, wife of tho captain of tho club, was ill black and green floral marocain. Among tho visitors present were: — Lady Armstrong, Mrs. H. H. Clemson, Mrs. W. McKinnon. Mrs. J. Law, Mrs. W. S. Harris, Mrs. Sydney Simmons, Mrs. Bruce Beale, Mrs. E. r i. Baker, Mrs. Ivory, Mrs. G. L. Cook, Mrs. Vingoe, Mrs. H. Lewis, Mrs. K. Lowe, Mrs. Newsham, Mrs. Crowley, Mrs. Renshaw, Mrs. H. Mansel, Sirs. Ripley, Mrs. Ross Smith, Mrs. J.
