SCHOOL'S ANNUAL DANCE
The Kihikihi school's annual fancy dress ball was a very successful event, and the large attendance thoroughly enjoyed the evening's entertainment. Prizes were won as follows: —Under school age: Bruce McGhie (Puss in Boots) and Lenice Wallace (chicken). Primers and Standard I.: Boys, Archie Westgate (pierrot), Sarnal Singh (rajah), and Harry Helwig (brand of benzine); girls, Gladys Tarrant (fairy), Patricia Brown (blue butterfly), and Shirlev Crook (brand of tea). Standards IT. and III.: Boys, James Jones (Robin Hood) and Tom Sullivan (Highland shepherd); girls, Betty Hastie (washing blue), Lorna Regan (MidVictorian), and Marian Moore (fairy godmother). Standards V. and VI.: Boy Marx (brand of dates), and John Pattison (penguin). Standards IV., V. and VI.: Girls: Janet Kinnon (black and white), Joan Havnes (stained glass window), and Isobel Taylor (stork). Best pair: Maida and John Sinclair (white sister and Brother Bernard). Deportment: Vanoye Duggan and Eileen Pickin.
