PROFIT OF £6BO MADE INTEREST IN BLEDISLOE HALL [from our own correspondent] HAMILTON. Tuesday The world-wide interest taken in the method of construction adopted in connection with the Bledisloe Agricultural Hall is referred to in the report of the Waikato Winter Show Association, to be presented at the annual meeting on October 29. The executive states that the association took the lead in solving the great national problem of constructing earthquakeresisting buildings. World-wide interest was aroused by the design and the systeVn of arc-welding used in the construction of the Bledisloe Hall, and numerous inquiries were received from all parts of New Zealand, and from overseas. The executive congratulates tho architects, Messrs. Edgecumbe and White, and the "engineer, Mr. J. R. Baird, on the success of their undertaking. An additional piece of land was purchased during the year to make room for tho amusement section, and to give access to the show from Garden Place. Tho butter and cheese exhibits at the last show numbered 1253, and constituted a world's record. Entries in all sections increased considerably, and the programme was most attractive in every way. The balance-sheet shows that after making a liberal allowance of £1166 for depreciation, and £2OO for bad debts, the association has made a net profit of £6BO for the year. Assets aro valued at £19,846, including £16,123 in buildings and land.
