WOODHILL FUNCTION
The Woodhill Women's Institute held a successful " fairy tale and nursery rhyme" ball, in aid of the local hall funds. Prizes were donated by Mrs. Millinan to the following for the best costumes: —Best ladies, Miss J. Phillips and Miss Betty Robertson (Swanson), as Snow White and Hose Red; best couple, Mr. C. Hoist and Mrs. E. G. Phillips as "king of hearts" and "queen of hearts" respectively; best set, "Alice in Wonderland," Miss E. McDonald, as "Urer Rabbit," Miss E. Deane as "Alice," Mr. Rolleston as "Tweedledee," and Lindsay Hoist, as the "Mad Hatter." A pQpular vote contest was won by Mrs. B. Phillips and Mrs. Hyland won a piano stool.
