RAILWAY DISASTER

MINISTER'S STATEMENT INVESTIGATION ORDERED British Wireless RUGBY, June 17 The Minister of Transport, Mr. L. Hore-Belisha, announced in the House of Commons to-day that the last information received from the London and North Eastern Railway Company about the disaster at Welwvn Garden City was that 14 persons were killed or had since died, and that the injured numbered 45. He said ho felt sure the House would wish him to take the opportunity of expressing the deep sympathy they must all feel for those affected by the accident. The Minister said he had instructed the chief inspecting officer of railways to hold an inquiry into the disaster.
