GISBORNE AERODROME
PROPOSAL FOR LEASING NO LOAN FOR IMPROVEMENTS [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN* CORRESPONDENT] GISBOKSTE, Wednesday No finality was reached at a meeting of the Gisborne Borough Council last night in connection with the proposal to lease the Darton Field aerodrome to East Coast Airways, Limited. The proposal was discussed at considerable length in committee and the terms and conditions to be imposed in the event of the council deciding to offer the ground for lease by auction Mere carefully considered, but decision was deferred. The council also adopted a report by the Finance Committee, which stated that it would be inadvisable to go to the ratepayers for a loan for improvements to the aerodrome.
