FAREWELL GATHERING

Miss Natalie Grushenkova, who has been touring the Dominion for the past four months in the interests of the Russian Missionary Society, was farewelled at a. meeting held in the Auckland Missionary Rooms, Lorne Street, on Tuesday evening. Mr. H. H. Driver presided in the absence of Rev. A. S. Wilson, chairman of the New Zealand Council of the Mission. Brief addresses were given by Messrs. A. Mill, secretary of the Egypt General Mission, H. Yolland, Dean of the Bible Training Institute, B. Herens, president of the Auckland Missionary Association, Mr. Zublievitch, Mrs. Driver and Miss Rona Smeeton.

Miss Grushenkova said she had visited fortv centres and had everywhere been treated with ■ great kindness and had had the privilege of addressing large audiences. She had been captivated by the beauty of the Dominion and was reluctant to leave it. The financial result of the visit had been very satisfactory and much interest* had been created in the sufferings of Russian Christians under the atheistic regime of the Soviet. She expressed the belief a great religious revival would yet occur in her country. Miss Grushenkova left by train on Tuesday evening , for Wellington to join the WanganelTa for Sydney. She is to undertake further deputation work in the Commonweath.
