CHARRED LETTERS

WRECKED AIR LINER SEVERAL SALVAGED DARWIN. Jan. 3 When the air mail which arrived by the Imperial Airways aeroplane Arethusa was opened several letters were found which had been salvaged from the Royal Dutch air linor which crashed in Palestine.

Some of the letters are charred at the edges and others are almost burned in halves.
