Quist was in fine form when he defeated Walton. He attacked on almost every point. Miss Stevenson gave a great display against the world's greatest woman player, but her tendency to net her returns cost her points. Miss Round played mainly from the back of the court.

Stefani had it all his own way against Frankenburg whom ho virtually swept off the court. Acting on medical advice Miss Hartignn, holder of the women's title, has withdrawn from all events in the championships. She was to have partnered Miss Round in the doubles, but her place will be taken by Miss Coyne.
