ARTS AND CRAFTS CIRCLE

To close their activities for 1934, the members of the Arts and Crafts Circle held a " breaking up " party at the Lyceum Club on Tuesday morning. A competition arranged and conducted by Dr. Gladys Rowley, created much merriment. The prize was won by Mrs. F. Winstone. During the morning, Mrs. Dickinson, convener of the circle, presented Mrs. Sydney Goldsmith with a handsome ornamented stone bird bath on behalf of the members, as a small recognition of her services to the circle. Since July last, Mrs. Goldsmith has given instruction weekly in old English coloured embroidery to members gratis, and many happy afternoons had been spent. Mrs. Goldsmith was also the recipient of a sheaf of gladioli. Morning tea brought the function to a close.
