PRINCESS MARINA

PREPARING THE TROUSSEAU By telephone from Paris, just as the Australian mail was about to close, L have receive.;! from Miss Tuila Keating. who is at present on holiday in the French capital, first-hand details of Princess Marina's trousseau purchases,. wrote a London correspondent to a Sydney newspaper on September 13. Princess Marina arrived in Paris two days ago. and since then has spent much of her time in the pale grey salons of Molyneaux. the British designer. to whom is entrusted the honour of making her wedding gown. Captain Molyneaux. who is absent from Paris, is travelling there at once in order to make preliminary sketches, from which the Royal hride-elect will choose before coming to England. From the already existent collection she has a choice of half-a-dozen outfits. One mole-coloured wool travelling outfit pleased her especially, and she is considering it as a going-awav cosnime. Blue, it appears, is a favourite colour of Princess Marina. Her engagement ring, with its wonderful blue Kashmir sapphire, set in diamonds, is likely to provide a basis for many of her frocks. Also at Molyneaux the Princess ordered a little shoulder cape of nutria fur. It- is regarded as likely that this house will also be entrusted with the making of the bridesmaids' frocks. Princess Marina is halving her trousseau shopping between Paris and London —and so the London dress shows just beginning have an added cachet and thrill. Each important house is hoping that it will be honoured by the patronage of the Duke of Kent s bride. Further, the dress shows have been given an added fillip ot prosperity, because of the certainty of an ultra-gay little season, with brilliant entertaininc in honour of Princess Marina.
