WOMEN'S DIVISION

NORTH AUCKLAND COUNCIL The half-yearly meeting of the Xorth Auckland Provincial Council of the Women's Division of the Farmers' Union was held in Ohaeawai, 11 branches being represented. Mrs. W. H. Lane presided. Mrs. Buckle, housekeeping secretary, reported that the council's housekeeper had been in continual employment since May. During the last si\ months seven other housekeepers had been employed and in two cases help had been obtained locally. Mrs. Pennefather's resignation as organiser for the Xorth was received with regret. Mrs. L. Williams (Tawai) being appointed to fill her place. A meeting is to be held in Whangarei this week, the purpose of which is to stimulate interest in the division and form more branches. Mrs. Lane gave a very interesting address on the recent conference. Remits to be forwarded to headquarters were discussed.
