HUTT CLUB WINTER CUP [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WELLINGTON. Monday By a series of narrow wins culminating in the defeat of J. C. Jeftery, of Miramar, 1 up, G. B. Ward, of Hutt, won -the Winter Cup in the Hutt Golf Club's annual tournament. This morning Ward had an unexpected win over H A. Black, whom he defeated at the 20th. Jeffery was a trifle unlucky not to get a commanding early lead. He was playing ft much steadier game through the green, but failed with his putting. Ward several time* recovered brilliantly irom the rough.
