LABOUR DM TOURNAMENT FINALS AT MIDDLEMORE MENZIES AND COLTMAN WIN The Auckland Golf Club's open tournament was finalised at the Middlemore links yesterday under ideal conditions. The absence of wind and the splendid condition of the course proved conducive to good scoring. " . The Eislop Cup. with a replica presented by the Titirangi Golf Club, which goes to the player returning th«> two best gross scores, was won by B. H. Menzieß, with an aggregate ecore of 148. Following were the best scores returned in this competition—B. H. Menzies, 78, 70-148: P. C. Savage. 71 31—152; E. L. Bartleet, 76, 77—153; H. Plumley. 73. SO-153: W. A. Donald, 74, 81—155: R. D. Wright. 78. 78—156; H. B. Lusk. 75, 84—159; T. B. Clark, 75, 84—159. The semi-finals in the Middlemore Cup match play competition resulted as follows: —W. A. Donald beat J. H. Earle, 4 and 3; G. Coltman beat S. H. Abel. 2 and 1. In the final, Coltman beat Donald, 1 up. Donald was 1 up going to the 17th, but got into three bunkers and lost a good chance for both the Middlemore and Hislop Cups. Coltman got a three at the 18th and finished 1 up. The prize for the best net medal round of the morning was won by T. E. Clark, after a tie with L. Alderton. The winner's score was 75, 6—69. The bogey handicap was won by V. E. Masters, who returned a score of 4 up. Other good scores were:—C. B. Thomas, 2 up; W. F. Greenbank. 1 up.
