INSTITUTE FIELD DAY
Members of the anthropology and Maori race section of the Auckland Institute and Museum spent an enjoyable and instructive field day at Te Henga, west coast, yesterday. After dinner had been cooked in a haangi (Maori oven), various points of interest in the locality were examined. Some interesting traces of Maori occupation were discovered, including some middens and earthworks. The outing, which was "organised by Mr. Allen Porter, was attended by Princess Te Puea Herangi and party from Waiuku.
