EFFORT TO REACH SYDNEY MECHANIC BEFORE COURT The efforts of a young mechanic to reach Mascot aerodrome, Sydney, where he said he had been promised work by Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, led to the appearance of Harry Sergeant, aged 20, in the Police Court, before Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., o;i Saturday, to face a charge of stowing away on the Monterey at Auckland on October 5. Accused pleaded guilty. Inspector Edwards said the accused had been discovered three hours after the vessel had sailed. He had no money for the fare and was detained on board until the Monterey returned to Auckland 011 Saturday morning. Accused's mother said her son had travelled all over New Zealand with Sir Charles Kingsford Smith, who had. promised he would give him a chance. Accused was ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within three months.
