FILM TRANSACTION

AMALGAMATED THEATRES The entire film output of the Gaumont • British and Gainsborough studios and of the Fox Film Corporation for 1935 has been secured for exhibition throughout New Zealand by Amalgamated Theatres, Limited, announced Mr. M. J. Moodabe, the governing director, yesterday. < "These three studios represent tho leading film producers of tho world and the transaction, involving over £60,000, is the largest ever completed in tho history of films in the Dominion," said Mr. Moodabe. The Gaumont British and Gainsborough studios will supply 32 "feature" productions, the principal players in which will include George Arliss, Madeleine Carroll, Jack Hulbort, Conrad Veidt, Jessie Matthews and Tom Walls and Ralph Lynn. The celebrated character actor George Arliss will be seen in "Tho Iron Duke," which has been acclaimed as his greatest production. Ho also will be seen in two other films, the titles of which have not yet been announced. Jan Kiepura is tho principal of "My Song For You," while Jack Hulbert appears in "Jack tho Tripper" and "Jack o'Lantern," all of which are included on the list. Tho Fox Film Corporation will supply 52 pictures, in which such popular artists as Janet Guvnor, Warner Baxter, John Boles, Will Rogers, Franchot Tone and Loretta Young will be seen. Janet Gaynor and Warner Baxter take tho leading roles of "One More Spring," one of the most attractive of the productions to be presented, while "Dante's Inferno," a lavish picture with 1000 in the cast, also will be screened. There will be two films of the musical extravagatua type, "Fox Follies of 1935.'' and "George White's Scandals, 1935 "
