BATHING PAVILION
MISSION BAY STRUCTURE ERECTION IN PROGRESS A. fine modern dressing pavilion in brick is being erected by the City Council at Mission Bay, the most popular bathing beach near the city, in readiness for the coming season. Hitherto bathers have had to be content with two rather primitive enclosures of wood and corrugated iron. These have been demolished and the new pavilion is being built on the site, which is at the seaward boundary of the Selwya Domain. The building will be 55ft. long and 28ft. wide, with a tiled roof. The walla will be finished externally iE creamcoloured plaster, with piers of facebrick. The interior will contain two large rooms, one for each sex, with dressing cubicles for those who desire them, ample locker accommodation, and fresh-water showers. A custodian will be provided during the season, and there is to be a small office at the entrance for his use. The plan includes two rooms with outside doorways, one as a casualty' room for the St. John Ambulance Association. and the other for storing lifesaving gear.
