CROQUET CLUB OPENING
'At the opening of the Mount Albert Croquet Club season the Mayor of Mount Albert, Mr. R. Ferner, who is also a patron of the club, addressed members and referred to the loss the club had suffered in the deaths of Mrs. Beck and Sir George Fowlds. Another speaker was Mrs. Badeley, president of the Auckland Croquet Association, and the club president, Mrs. Maxwell, welcomed members and friends. The latter also played the first ball and declared the lawns open for play. Winners of progressive croquet were: A grade, Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Boag; B grade, Mrs. Harris and Mrs. Whyte.
