AUSTRALIAN AMATEUR TEAM MATCH AGAINST AUCKLANDERS Following programmes, in which thrilling fighting and briltinnt boxing has been the rule and not the exception, the Auckland Boxing Association's tournament at the Town Hail next Monday evening should provide the best night of amateur boxing this season. The all-amateur carnival was a great success, the amateur provincial championships were up to standard, and the Auckland representatives did well at the New Zealand championship meeting. Now local ring-siders will have the opportunity of seeing an Australian team in action against the cream of this city's performers. In tile South the Australians delighted with their performances and, although they lost the fe&t matches by aix bouta to two, they were by no means disgraced, many spectatorn and critics believing that in three of the contests they were unlucky to lose. The Australians further proved their worth by defeating the Wellington representatives by five bouts to two, and they expect equal success against Auckland. Unfortunately three of the Auckland champions will not be able to take part, but their places have been well filled by those who were runners-up at the championships tournament, and Auckland will have a strong team, which' will fully test the strength, skill and vigour of the visitors. Every one of the eight Australia-Auckland contests, as well as the two supporting bouts, promises to be packed with incident and it ia expected that the Town Hall will be filled to capacity.
