SEMI.FINALS TO-DAY [BY telegraph —OWN correspondent] WANGANUI, Thursday Several heavy showers made at times rather unpleasant for those .taking part in the Wanganui ladies' provincial golf championship tournament to-day, but rapid progress was made with the match P' a y> which brought about the elimination of ail but four players in the title event. As a result of their success in the quarter finals. Miss O. Kay will play Mrs. Broderick. and Misa B. Gaisford will play Miss J. Currie in tho semi-finals to-morrow. Following aro results of to-days play in the provincial championship:— First Round.—Miss Kay beat Miss Duncan, 7 and C; Miss Grace beat Mrs. J. G. Brown, 5 and 4: beat Mrs. Cook, 1 up; Mrs. Richardson beat Mrs. Wilson, 3 and 2; Miss Gaisford beat Mrs. Hnnd'ey, 6 and 4; Mrs. Waddell beat Mrs. Goldsbury, 3 and 2; Miss Blvth heat Mrs. Grace, 4 and 2; Miss Currie beat Mrs. Gilbert, 6 and 4. _ Second Round.—Miss Kay beat Miss Grace. 6 and 4; Mrs. Broderick heat. Mrs. Richardson. 2 and 1; Miss Gaisford beat Mrs. Waddell, 4 and 2; Misa Currie beat Misa Blyth, 6 and 4. MID-CANTERBURY TITLE LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] ASHBTJRTON. Thursday , Misa J. Horwell. of Timaru. with a score of IG2, haa retained the mid-Canterbury Indiea' senior golf title, which she won last year, defeating Misa V. Fleming, of Christchurch, the runner-up, 163, after tieing with a card of 179 in the first round. There were 86 entries.
