BOY PIANIST
PHILIP HARGRAVE SEASON At His Majesty's Theatre to-morrow evening, J. and N. Tait will present Philip Hargrave, the youthful piano genius—who has captivated Australian audiences —in the first of a series of recitals. Included in> the opening programme will be the celebrated "Moonlight" Sonata. Of his rendering of this and the "Liebestraum," a writer in the Sydney Morning Herald said:—"They were stupendous performances for a child of his age. There was keen, strong thought behind them; the tone was amazingly d ev eloped, and the technique had fluency and brilliance. Tho audience set lip such a clamour of applause as has not been heard at a concert here for many a day. As before, the perfect poise and self-possession of this small person never failed to exert an uncanny effect." A noted Victorian baritone. Mr. J. Alexander Browne, will be the assisting artist.
