LUGGAGE AT STATION

NEW " CHECKING " ROOM DIRECT ACCESS FROM ROAD | Great convenience to railway travellers will result fro in the provision of a new luggage "checking" office with direct access to the roadway at .the Auckland station. A room at the ! Parnell end of the front of the station, I formerly \ised as: a meeting room, is being converted into a luggage room. Only minor alterations are necessary and it is. expected the room will be in use within a week or so. The new accommodation will enable inward arid outward checked luggage to be taken to and from trams or motor vehicles with the minimum of effort.

At present the luggage-checking room- is located at the point where the concourse joints the vestibule, opposite the ticket and booking offices. This necessitates carrying lujicatxe some distance to and from the roadway at the entrance. When the new room, which adjoins the present luggage room, is in commission, the existing space will be used as a left luggage office.
