OFFICIAL RECEPTION
APPOINTMENT OF REFEREES Details in connection with the visit of the Western Suburbs team to Auckland were discussed at last evening's meeting of the New Zealand Rugby League. The secretary, Mr W. O. Carlaw, stated that accommodation wonld not be arranged until the team arrived to-morrow morning. An official reception would be given to the visitors at dinner to-morrow evening, when the president, Mr. C. A. Snedden. would preside. The question of appointmeni of referees for the matches was mentioned by Mr. W. J. Davidson, who asked whether any official nominations were > forwarded. - _ Mr. A. Ferguson expressed surprise at the New Zealand Referees' Association not submitting five names already decided upon. The secretary, Mr. W. O. Carlaw, said no correspondence had been received in connection with a request for nominations. Mr. Ferguson submitted ,the names of Messrs. P. Rogers, L. Bull and M. Wetherill. Mr. M. Wetherill was appointed for the first game.
