TRAM TRAFFIC HELD UP

NEWMARKET DERAILMENT CONSIDERABLE DELAY CAUSED Tram traffic to the city from Remuera, Great Sooth Road. Onehunga and Epsom was delayed for over 20 minutes by the derailment of a car at the inaction of Broadway and Khyber Pass Road at about 7.40 last night. Outward-bound traris also were held up for a short time and road traffic was congested. A. similar derailment occurred at the same point some weeks ago, but in that instance considerably less interruption to traffic resulted. The tram involved in last night'* accident was travelling from Onehunga to the city, and as it- was turning toward Khyber Pass Road from Newmarket the rear bogey left the rails. The vehicle was towed by another tram a short distance to enable outward traffic to pass, and the derailed car was afterwards manoeurred back oa to the rails by means of ramps.
