ELLSWORTH EXPEDITION LEADER IN AUCKLAND TODAY [bt telegraph—OWN correspondent] DUNEDIN. Thursday The crew of tie Lincoln Ellsworth Antarctic Expedition's ship Wyatt Earp was engaged to-day in stowing the aeroplane Polar Star in the hold of the ship. The wings; of the machine were stowed first and; battened down, the body of the plane following. The Wyatt Eaurp, which is now practically ready for sea, will sail finally from Dunedin about September 20 for Deception Island, It will then -be spring in that region aid Mr. Ellsworth plans to make a flight from the expedition's base on the islam 1 along the unexplored west coast of tlie Weddell Sea to its head, and then across unknown territory to the Ross Sea. The aeroplane, which was placed on the Wyatt Earp under Mr. Bernt Balchen's instructions, will be piloted by Mr. Balchen. Mr. Ellsworth will arrive at Auckland to-morrow by the Mariposa from Los Angeles and is expected to reach Dunedin early n< xt week.
