TWO MEN SERIOUSLY HURT MINOR INJURIES TO DRIVER [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WESTPORT. Saturday A serious accident occurred on the Denniston Road this afternoon, when a car driven by Mr. Trevor Richards, with his father, Mr. Walter Richards, a powerhouse engineer, and Mr. D. S. Loder, a school teacher, as passengers, went over a 100 ft. bank. Both passengers were taken to the Denniston Hospital with serious injuries. Mr. Loder was to be married next week, and intended to leave Denniston on Monday to accept a school-teaching appointment at Cricklewood, near Timaru. He is a well-known Rugby footballer, having captained the Buller team last year. The driver of the car escaped with slight injuries. The accident occurred on a hill seven miles from Westport.
