GAME SHOOTING CONTROL
BAY OF ISLANDS REMITS [by telegraph—own correspondent] KAAVAKAWA. Friday The executive of the Bay of Islands Acclimatisation Society has decided to forward the following remits for consideration at Jhe forthcoming conference to be held in Wellington:—That the protection on pukeko be lifted; that acclimatisation societies be allowed 2 S 6d- out of sporting dog licences; that the societies be given permission to appoint certain members to shoot old hen pheasants, these birds being considered more harmful than vermin; that gun licences be issued at 10s each in lieu of £1 shooting licence's.
