SPORT FOR TO-DAY
REPRESENTATIVE FOOTBALL RUGBY AND LEAGUE GAMES Unusually interesting football matches will be played in Auckland to-day, representative games having been arranged in 'both the Rugby and League codes. Tho principal Rugby gamo will be between North Auckland and Auckland at Eden Park and play will commence at 2.30 p.m. South Auckland junior representatives will play an Auckland team at 1.45 on No. 2 ground. A large crowd is expected at Carlaw Park this afternoon, where tho principal match will be between Auckland and Northland at three o'clock. The Northland team contains several promising players, and this gamo should be productive of good football. An interesting programme has been arranged for Association tootball enthusiasts at Blandford Park. Comrades will play Thistle at 1.30, while tho later game will bo between North Shore and Y.M.O.A.
A good display of hockey should result from the game between Somerville and St. Luke's, which will be the chief attraction at the Remuera grounds. Good entries have been received for the Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club's competitions, which will bo continued at the Outer Domain. Programmes have been arranged by tho various cycling and harrier clubs. Tho basketball competitions will be advanced a further stage this afternoon.
