Miss Jean Batten was entertained by a large gathering, and was presented by Mr. G. M. Spence, president of the New Zealand Aero Club, with a cheque for £9O 011 behalf of various clubs in the Dominion. Miss Batten was also made the recipient of a silver life membership badge of the Marlborough Club
ARRIVAL AT WANGANUI ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION fBY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WANGANUI. Saturday Miss Jean Batten arrived from Blenheim before noon to-day. Four Federation aeroplanes piloted by Wanganui girls went out to meet her and escorted her to the aerodrome. Miss Batten was accorded a civic welcome in the Opera House, where there was a large attendance.
