BICYCLES STOLEN
YOUTHS AT WANGANUI FIVE APPEAR IN COURT [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] WANGANUI, Saturday There has been an epidemic of bicycle thefts at Wanganui by youths. Five youths came before the Court this morning and Detective Walsh said he could not speak too strongly regarding bicycle thefts, which were easy to commit. He asked the magistrate, Mr. J. H. Salmon, to impose deterrent sentences. Colin George Coneybeer, described as the ringleader of the gang, was sentenced to three years in a Borstal institution, Frank Joseph Luff and Reginald Stephen Parkin to twelve months' probation, Wilfred David Pullen Trow to one month, and Colin Henry Hickman to three months.
