APPEAL UPHELD

A CONVICTION QUASHED EPISODE WITH RACEHORSE SYDNEY, July 21 At the quarter sessions the Appeal Court to-day quashed the conviction of Robert W. Skelton, who was fined £lO for usihg insulting words with £5 7s costs, had his motor licence cancelled for six months and on a third charge fined £5 with 8s costs. The charges were laid by Archibald McNeill, stableman to J. T. Jamieson, well-known -horse trainer, in charge of the £3OOO filly Myra Tip. Jt was alleged that Skelton used insulting words, drove a motor-car in a manner dangerous to the public, and backed his car unduly. It was stated by complainant that Skelton backed and drove liis car about the road until Myra Tip was thoroughly soared, and was in danger of being injured.
