TENNIS PRIZE DANCE
BIRKENHEAD-NORTHCOTE The annual dance, held in the King's Theatre /at Northcote last evening, under the, auspices of the Birkenhead and Northcote Tennis Club, was largely attended, and was most enjoyable and successful. The hostesses were Mrs. E. W. B. Herrick, who wore a frock of gold lace and green satin, and Mrs. H. J. Keenan, in blue satin beaute. The floor arrangements were in charge of Mr. J. Hollows. Dance extras were played by Mrs.. N. R. Harris. The presentation of the trophies to the winners 'of the past season's competitions was made by Mr. Percy Harrison, president of the Auckland Lawn Tennis Association, in the absence in England of the president, Mr. L. S. Maxwell, who is expected to return in time for the opening of the ensuing season. . ■ i.-v.-' 1 ,
The function was organised by a ladies' committee comprising the two hostesses, Mrs. E. W. B. Herrick and Mrs. H. J. Keenan, Mrs. H. W. Tyer, whose frock was of black flat crepe; Mrs. H. R. Clark, in windswept green satin; Mrs. C. G. Cronan, wine velvet; Miss M. Newman, white satin; and Miss Ailsa Whitehead, white and red organdie.
