DEATH ON ROAD

FARMER'S SUDDEN COLLAPSE MOTOR-TRUCK STUCK IN MUD [by telegraph —OWN correspondent] KAITAIA, "Wednesday The death occurred suddenly this afternoon of Mr. Frederick Quinlivan, of Pukepoto, near Kaitaia, aged 47. While travelling through the Herekino Gorge, near Kaitaia, the small truck that Mr. Quinlivan was driving became stuck in the mud. With the assistance of a passing motorist, Mr. Quinlivan was getting the vehicle clear when he dropped dead, presumably from heart failure.

Mr. Quinlivan, who was the son of Mr. T. F. Quinlivan, of Hastings, tho well-known horse trainer, came to this district from Palmerston North about two years ago, when, with his brother, Mr. A. Quinlivan, he purchased a farm at Pukepoto, about five miles from Kaitaia. Deceased leaves a wifo, but there are no children.
