ELUSIVE BURGLAR
TWO HOUSES ENTERED MONEY TAKEN FROM CLOTHES The elusive burplar generally known as "Slippery Sam" is believed to have committed two thefts in the Dominion Road district early yesterday morning. Nobody was disturbed in either of the two houses visited, the thief escaping with money totalling £7 7s Gd.
Several rooms at the home of Mrs. F. Lawrence, 30 Brixton Road, Dominion Road, were entered by the thief. He searched pockets and took money apparently without making a sound, although people were sleeping in some of the rooms. The intruder had no difficulty in entering the house, as a door had been left unlocked. Tho first intimation received by Mr. J. Howard, of 53 Prospect Terrace, that a thief had been in his house was when be found his empty wallet on the kitchen table yesterday morning. Tho wallet, which had contained money, had been left in one of bis pockets tho previous night. The thief entered through an unlocked door, stole £2 ss-from two suits in a bedroom, and disappeared without waking either Mr. Howard or his son.
