FAREWELL SOCIAL

There was a largo assemblage of local residents at Manawaru on the occasion of a farewell social tendered to Miss Walter, who has been transferred from the Manawaru to the Te Kauwliata school. During the evening Miss Walter was the recipient of a handsome gold watch, Mr. O'Sullivan making the presentation on behalf of the residents The Badminton Club presented the guest of the evening with a vanity flap-jack, while the Tennis Club's present was a handsome scent bottle. Miss Walter suitably replied and was accorded musical honours.
