"BIBLE MARATHON"
READING COMMENCES EARLY MORNING START Five readers assembled at the Ponsonby Road hall of the Salvation Army at one o'clock this morning to commence a continuous reading of the whole of the New Testament, termed by its organisers a " Bfble marathon." The reading is part of a Bible week-end conducted by Captain and Mrs. H. G. Wallace of the Salvation Army. Tho readers intended to continue until daylight, taking spells of a chapter each, while other readers will relieve them during the morning. It is expected that about 60 readers will take part during the day, and the reading should finish shortly before eight o'clock this evening, just before the commencement of a Bible demonstration which is to bo hold in the hall. Progress reports of the reading, which is open to the public, will bo posted outside tho hall during the day.
The divisional commander, Major S. Hayes, will preside at the demonstration to-night, and an address will bo delivered by Mr. K. 11. Mclvin.
