DAY OF PRAYER
STUDENT FEDERATION Tho annual day of prayer of the World's Student Christian Federation was observed yesterday by the New Zealand Student Christian Movement, in co-operation with the kindred movements in Australia and South Africa. In Aucklard devotional meetings were held at tho University College in the women's common room.
The meeting in the .morning was attended by i,he Rev. Jvo E. Bertram, of >st. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, and by 14 students of the college. In the afternoon there was an attendance of about i) 0 students and others interested in the movement, the meeting bcinn presided over by Mr. D. G. Mawson. president of the Auckland University branch, in an address on the practice of prayer the Rev. W. Bower Black, of St. David's Presbyterian Church, said the chief difficulty was that many people did not want to pray. People were called to be fellow workers of God Christian life was not merely an adventure, but an alliance. People must pray to the right Cod and not bo vague; they must pray for the right things, with knowledge and understanding. They must also pray with their whole heart, or else their prayer would lack reality. Tea was held at the college and in the evening a number of students attended the service at St. Matthew's Church.
