COST OF LIVING
CONCERN AT INCREASES Concern at increases in the cost of living, with no corresponding increase in wages, was expressed at a meeting of the Papatoetoe Ratepayers' Welfaro League last week. In addition to protesting against the price of nulk, the league decided to draw the attention of the Government to the serious effect of the increase in the price of coal upon the working people in the Auckland districts in view of the approach of winter.
