SUBJECT OF CONTROVERSY INFALLIBILITY QUESTIONED r LONDON, March 22 Some doubt has been thrown on the fingerprint system as providing an infallible clue to identity, says tlio Daily Mail. British scientists do not credit the. American claim that fingerprints can be altered surgically, and doctors say the operation would be most painful, and would leave a permanent scar. A Scotland Yard Commissioner. Sir Trevor Bigham, says the classification of fingerprints is the most valuable contribution yet made to police work.
