THE CARE OF STOCKINGS

Silk stockings almost invariably dry a shade lighter each time they are washed. A good way to keep the stockings their original colour, and one which will in no way injuro the silk threads, is to give them a final rinse in strained tea or coffee. The coffee or tea will bring back the fashionable dark shade to any faded beige stockings, and both these methods are more effective, than an ordinary dye, as there is no fear of streaking. Used coffee grounds would serve the purpose. Soak silk stockings in salt water before they are worn for the first time, as this will considerably lengthen tho lifo of the stockings by strengthening the threads.
