Shatter and Nightly gave a pleasing disi p.ay over a mile, finishing together They ran the first half in 10 2-ss, and tho full Journey in 1.41 2-5. Nightly was stiff for | a. few days after arriving home from Tren- | J bain but is evidently right again. Shatter j looks bright and should be prominent later | at the meiM.ng. Falkland and Copyist strode over a mile in 1.45. and High Rank, assisted by Silent I light, covered tho same ground in 1.40 2-5. Doiran finished two lengths in front of High Tor at. the end of half a mile run in 49 3-5.5. Epigram and Silvox Epigram, Eminent and Forestry were despatched from the mile and a-quarter post. They kept together until the last furlong when Forestry was in trouble, and Epigram finished on belter than .Eminent to beat him by a neck. Tho full journey occupied 2.11 3-5. the last mile taking 1,15 1-5. Epigram attracted attention by tho solid manner in which lie completed his work and will have a good following in tho cup. Silvox, with Heather Glow ns a mate for a mile, traversed the same journey in 2.10 3-5. tho last milo in 1,12 3-5. Silvox, although causing no litflo anxiety as to his soundness, has survived a solid preparation satisfactorily. Bright Red, Sibella and Amddifad were practically abreast throughout seven furlongs run in 1.31. Ramo, Rocket and Night Flyer woro given a useful gallop over a mile and ahalf, tho two first-named finishing together well clear of Night Flyer. Tho last milo took 1,17 1-5, and tho last half 51 l-ss. Tho two cup candidates finished strongly under their light weights. Croupier, with bis trainer in the saddle, easily accounted for Top Rank over six furlongs in 1.17. Tout lo Mondo and Brambletorn wero companions over a mile, taking 1.44 2-5. Brambletorn is very well and will have a strong North Island following in the cup. Passion Fruit and Emotion ran six furlongs in 1.17, finishing together. Emotion did not move very freely over tho early stages. Sweet Agnes rind Argentic had a close tusslo over nino furlongs covered in 1.29 1-5. Argentic will not require much racing to bo ablo to show his old form. Coronilla's Smart Sprint Coronilla sprinted half a mile in 48 2-ss, and Wonderful and Master Reynard recorded -16 l-5s for a similar task. Hurlingham strodo over seven furlongs in 1.35. Ranelaglr galloped a mile in 1.42 2-5. Water Polo accompanied him over tho last six furlongs which occupied 1.17 2-a.
