MANUKAU CLUB'S RACES CLOSE OF THE ROAD SEASON The Manukau Amateur Cycling Club concluded its road racing season on Saturday, when a junior race of 7} miles and a senior event over 22} miles were decided at Avondale South. A strong northerly wind hindered fast racing. Following were the results Junior Raco.—E. E, Tucker (2m), 22m 335, 1; H. J. Ball (3m), 24m 395. 2; J. F. Archer (2m), 23m 40ii. 3. C. F. Dwight, scr, returned fastest time in Qlm 535. Senior Event—J. W. Clark (3m 80s), 65m 355, 1; T. L. Nixon (5m 455), 08m 335, 2; J. C. Fanch (5m 455). GBm 31s, 3. J. Brown, 30s, registered fastest time in G4m 13s.

AUCKLAND AMATEUR CLUB The Auckland Amateur Athletic and Cycle Club conducted a junior race o£ eight miles and an 11} miles senior event, Continental style, under good conditions on Saturday. Following were the results: — Junior Race.—L. Walton (lm), 24in 20s, 1; A. Glover (lm), 24m 435, 2; L. Morrison (acr). 2Sm 28s, 3. Walton returned fasteßt time. Senior Race.—J. AUCKLAND CLUB The Auckland Cycle Club decided a junior event of 5} miles and a senior raco of 30 miles for the Rudgo Challenge Shield at Tamaki on Saturday. AUCKLAND LADIES' CLUB A race of eight miles was conducted at Mount Albert on Saturday afternoon by tho Auckland Ladies' Cycling Club. The result was:—Miss 11. Robinson (lm 20s), 2Gm 19s, 1; Miss F. PAPATOETOE'CLUB The Papatoetoe Amateur Cycling Club decided its championship over a 20 miles course at Howick oil Saturday. A handicap was also held in conjunction. Tho results were Championship.—S. Harris (scr), 18m 395, 4. Harris registered fastest time. TAKAPUNA CLUB Tho Takapuna Amateur Cycling Club held a raco of 30 miles on Saturday over tho lake circuit under ideal conditions. N " WAIKATO AMATEUR CLUB [from our own correspondent] TAUPIRI, Saturday The Waikato Amateur Cycling Club held a road race from Ngaruawalua to the Claudelands boundary and back to-day. a •distance of about twenty-two miles. 1 he winner of tho race waß W. Montford, it klen Masfcey, M. Montford, Huntly, brine second and B. Waugh, Ngaruawahia, third. Ihe distance was accomplished in tho fastest time by M. Jones, o! Hamilton. ROAD RACE AT WHAKATANE [nr TELEGRAPH OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHAKATANE, Sunday The Whakatano Cycle Club held its annual 45 miles round-the-Gorges road race to-day for tho Armstrong gold medal under ideal weather conditions. Fourteen riders faced the stc.rter and ft good rnco resulted, although the long sleep hills slowed tho times considerably. Results:—D. Aberhart, scr, 1, and fastest time of 2h 3Gm 30s; E. Ryan, 22m, 2; P. Abrrlmrt, 11m, 3; W. Hansen, sm, 4. Harland, scr, retired. Won by nearly three minutes, with over throe minutes between second and third.
