PROFESSIONS QUEEN

The cause of the Professions Queen (Miss F. Mackenzie) has been enthusiastically taken up by Auckland surveyors and their wives. A ladies' committee was set up consisting of Mrs. Blake, Mrs. Preston Chambers, Mrs. It. McMorran, Mrs. Traill, Mrs. Clapperton, Mrs. Harrison and Mrs. C. K. Grierson, and with tho ready co-opera-tion of the wives of tho other suhveyors, various entertainments and parties were arranged. Theso, in conjunction with donations received, have resulted in a substantial sum being contributed in aid of Miss Mackenzie's candidature.
