LUXURY CRUISES

"NICE COMMENTARY" SYMPATHY FOR WORKLESS In his summing up in a case in tho Supreme Court in Brisbane recently, Mr. Justice Brennan referred to unemployed youths in Australia and people travelling on luxury cruises to England. The Judge said he had the greatest sympathy with young men out of employment who were "belted about from pillar_Jbo post," and had no chance of travelling distances in search of employment, unless by "jumping tho rattler," as' the term was used, and ultimately being taken before a police court and convicted. I "Something more must be done for these young men in Australia," 'His H6nor said. "This morning's paper referred to tourists arriving in England, ship after ship arriving full or nearly so. For instance, the Strathnover, with 1500 berths, left Melbourne with 1480 of them taken. Not only are thousands of Australians going to London, but they go in good spirits, and apparently with their pockets full of money, "This is a nice commentary in a young country, where the flower of our manhood have to resort to train-jump-ing to eke out an existence, on the dole. Something should be dono to assist these young fellows."
