Ir. practice matches Cambridge seniors beat Kaipaki by 3 coal to 0. The Kaipaki and Cambridge juniors drew'. 1 all. The Leamington Ladies' Club also opened its season. Visitors were present from Ngaruawahia and a, practice game resulted ill a win fcr the visitors by 2 goals to 0. FRANKLIN TOURNAMENT [from our own correspondent] TUAKAU, Saturday The Franklin Hockey Association's season opened with a seven-n-sido tournament at Tuakau for lady players. The clubs taking part were Whiriwhiri United, Tuakau. "Bucklnnd, Pukekawa. Onewhero and Bombay. The tourney was won by Whiriwhiri United, with Tuakau runners-up. A relav race was won by Buckland. an obstacle race by Miss M. Channells. of Pukekawa. and a 100 yards championship by Miss M. Pratt. Buckland, with Miss G. Cathcart, Buckland, second. TOURNAMENT AT THAMES [from our own correspondents] THAMES, Sunday A six-a-side tourney opened tlie local hockey season yesterday on the High School grounds. There were four rounds in the men's section, the clubs playing being High School A and B, Wanderers A and B, Kerepeehi A and B, Thames A and B, and Kopuarahi A and B. High School A won the competition.
