SMALL CAR CAPSIZED

TWO CHILDREN INJURED COLLISION WITH A DOG Two children received minor injuries u hen a small closed motor-car driven by their father capsized after striking a dog on the Great South Boad, near Momona Boad, shortly before eight o'clock yesterday morning. The driver, Mr. L. E. Williamson, of Great South Boad, Penrose, and Mrs. Williamson, who was also in the front se»t, escaped with a shaking. The elder child, Betty, aged 4 J years, received a gash in the left elbow, whilo her infant sister suffered abrasions to 0110 leg. Both children wero attended by a doctor, and Betty was taken to tho Auckland Hospital for treatment. Tho car, which was travelling toward the city, had almost reached the Momona Boad intersection when the accident occurred. One front wheel struck tho dog, and the car immediately turned 011 its left side, skidding along the centre of tho road in that position. Mr. Williamson, who was still in tho driving seat, opened tho right-hand door, which was uppermost, and scrambled out, but was unable to release his wife and children until a number of passers-by bad righted tho car. The windows 011 tho left-hand side of the car were smashed, and tho two mudguards and tho running-board on that side wero buckled. Tho dog was killed outright. * ACCIDENT AT A BEND MEMBERS OF DANCE BAND [BY TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHANG AREI, Thursday A motor-car, containing the Bon Ton danco band, comprising Mrs. 11. Bavlis, of Oncrahi, Messrs. It. Fisher, W. Calder, jun., and M. Fox, which left Whangarei last evening for Kawakawa, met with a serious mishap. Tho car was travelling along tho Hikurangi Road, and when rounding a bend near McLeod's Flat, the wheels skidded and tho car turned completely over. The members of the party escaped with minor injuries, but the car was severely damaged. Tho car was towed hack to Whangarei, and the musicians also returned.
