RURAL CREDIT LOANS
REDUCTION IN INTEREST DECISION OF BOARD [BY TELEGItAriI—TO ESS ASSOCIATION] "W ELLIN.GTON, Friday Tha Prime Minister, lU. Hon. G. W. Forbes, announces that the Rural intermediate Credit Board has decided to reduce as from May 1 tho rates of interest charged 011 loans made by it and co-operativo rural intermediate credit associations. Tho reduction has been decided upon in response to the Government's desire for a general reduction of interest rates with a view to assisting mortgagors. Mr. Forbes is particularly pleased that tho board has met the Government's wish, especially as it was evident. the board in doing so was making a considerable sacrifice financially. •The reduction will apply to loans already in existence as well as loans granted after May 1. Mr. Forbes was informed by the commissioner that the board has aderpiate funds to .meet all reasonable demands by farmers in the coming winter.
